Today my guest is Ayse Hitchins, a convert to the Church from from Turkey. She is the co-author of the book “The Worth of a Soul: from Muslim to Mormon.” It is a memoir of her life growing up in Turkey, chronicling the hardships of poverty, abuse, and political upheaval. The turning point in her life is when she met her husband Ross, who brought her to Christ, and entered the waters of baptism. Since her conversion, she moved to Canada with her husband, and they have traveled the world together. Ayse was later called to be on the translation committee for the Book of Mormon into the Turkish language. At the present time, she is serving on the translation committee for the Doctrine & Covenants. Ayse’s story is a riches-to-rags-to riches story. Ayse and her Husband reside in Mississauga. She currently serves as the Gospel Doctrine Teacher.
In part 1 of the interview, we discuss her book “The Worth of a Soul”, whom she co-authored with Kristen McKendry (See episode 002). We talk about her life story beginning in Turkey, as outline in the book.
